A Vacancy exists for a Meticulous, Draughtsman (must reside in the West Rand) to be responsible for the drawing of new parts and updating of existing drawings and tooling management for Grinding Techniques, a well-known global manufacturer of abrasives products and part of the Tyrolit Swarovski group of companies.
1. Creation of CAD / CAM drawings, continuously updating and improving drawings. Filerevisions and suitable file management process, within the IT infrastructure.
2. Management of production tooling and spares:
- a. Cataloguing of all tooling and spares.
b. Identification, Marking and Traceability of all tooling.
c. Liaise with Management for the re-ordering and re-design of tooling.
d. Design and Innovation around new tooling.
e. Establishment and Management of a proactive/preventative tool refurbishmentplan.
f. Order, follow-up and receipt tooling from suppliers in conjunction with thepurchasing department.
g. Accountability of supplier conformance in terms of the expected standards.
3. Report/Recommend to the Maintenance Manager through the relevant processes, thedesign and ordering of new and modified replacement machine parts and spares.
4. Creating of drawings and schematics of machinery, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatics,etc.
5. Assisting in project-based designs and layout.
6. General Housekeeping and Administration associated with position and work space.
7. Assisting with Stock Takes as and when required
The successful applicant must have:
• Draughting Qualification / AutoCAD
• 3+ Years Draughting Experience of machine parts and/or tooling
• MS Office Suite, Auto Cad,
• Abrasion Industry Experience (Added Advantage)
• Willing to Work Shifts
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to make decisions quickly and confidently based on company policies andpractices
• Ability work in a team and ask if unsure
• Management of drawings (allocation, updating, archiving)
• Management of tool stores (annual demand, marking, instruction to supervisors…)
• Understanding of production technology
• Understanding of construction of tools and spare parts
• Selection of materials for spares, depending on function
• Knowledge about technical standards (EN, ISO, SANS…)
• Knowledge about ISO 9000 would be great
• Ability to make proposals for improvements, efficient tool solutions and to follow instructions
• Excellent Communication Skills, both Verbal and Written
• Must be MS Office literate (Intermediate to Advanced)
